The team at Rehab People are experienced in assisting people with spinal injury to develop client-centred, goal-orientated rehabilitation goals, aimed at maximising a person's independence and participation to minimise the impact of disability on their life following a spinal cord injury.
The 'one stop shop' philosophy of Rehab People allows for continuity when several disciplines are involved and lends to easier and more effective communication within the team. Training for Independence Services are social rehabilitation entitlements that focus on restoring a client's independence and their ability to participate in their wider community to the maximum extent practicable, whilst reducing their likely need for further rehabilitation. The most appropriate team member will be allocated as key worker who will co-ordinate the rehabilitation programme and communicate with the client, their family/whanau, ACC, and other parties.
Rehab people staff have good links with the spinal Injury Unit at Burwood Hospital and our staff attend training updates when available.
